Radiation detectors are one of the many devices that lab workers use to keep safe. A personal radiation detector monitors the environment to alert users to the presence of radioactive material. Depending on the type of radiation detector (gamma radiation detector, alpha radiation detector, radiation dosimeters), users can detect and measure types of radiation, levels of radiation, counts, accumulated dose, and dose rates. We offer several low-level sensitive handheld and tabletop radiation detector units with varying features, including documentation capabilities, timers, and ergonomic design. General-purpose radiation detectors are available with uncompensated halogen-quenched sensors for measuring alpha, beta, gamma, and X-ray radiation; select meters have energy-compensated sensors for increased sensitivity to gamma and X-ray radiation. Personal pen-style dosimeters are also an option.
