Used to measure heat released or absorbed during a process, bomb calorimeters calculate the Gross Calorific Value (GCV) of a solid or liquid. The IKA C 2000 features two separate GCV determination methods: isoperibolic and dynamic. Isoperibolic methods allow the reaction within the vessel to take place, while the water temperature in the surrounding vessel is held constant. Any temperature differential is compensated for once the reaction is complete. The dynamic mode is a shorter version of the isoperibolic measuring principles. Results still conform to the required precision of the official standards of DIN 51900, ASTM 240 D, ISO 1928, and BSI.
The C 2000 calorimeter is a combustion calorimeter for determining gross calorific values of liquid and solid samples. Highly automated with simple handling allows the user to measure samples in as little as 7 minutes. The easy-to-use console and operating software allows you to program and run programs from the unit or via PC. Interface connections also provide for attachment of a scale, printer, monitor, and sample rack. The automatic water handling system provides water tempering as well as automatic filling and emptying of the inner vessel. Unit also contains automated oxygen filling of decomposition vessel, decomposition vessel identification, and sample ignition.
