Don't struggle to perform TKN (Total Kjeldahl Nitrogen), the controller is programmed to ramp the temperature of the block to 160°C and hold that temperature for 60 minutes. Then the block temperature automatically ramps to 380°C over the course of 60 minutes and holds that temperature for an additional 30 minutes. At that point the block shuts off to end the digestion. Temperature, ramp rate, and hold times are easily programmed for other procedures. Up to 20 steps can be incorporated for each digestion procedure.

To withstand the highly corrosive nature of the TKN procedure, the high-temperature block is encased in 316 stainless steel. The tube rack and cooling rack are also 316 stainless steel. The controller is independent from the block and should be placed outside the fume hood to reduce the likelihood of acid damage.
