The optimal system for performing cyanide and ammonia distillations following established EPA methods 335.4 and 350.1, and Standard Methods 4500-CN-C and 4500-NH3.

The distillate is collected in a disposable trap, and does not require the use of a chiller or water lines. The sample boils in the glass boiling tube, and the gas is pulled by vacuum into the trap where it is collected. A hydrophobic porous frit in the trap prevents solution from flowing back into the boiling tube. When complete, the trap is removed and the contents are ready for analysis — Simple!
